Students in 8th grade sewing learn a variety of practical skills using both hand and machine methods. They are required to complete two projects. The first is a patchwork pillow, which they design and machine stitch, using fabric of their choice. The second project, chosen from a broad range of commercial kits, incorporates written directions and challenging steps. The class atmosphere is relaxed and noncompetitive and students are free to interact with their peers while they work.
Having trouble picking out your second project? This website shows pictures of all the projects you may choose from. Please let me know which one you would like to order.
